Abstract

Manajemen diri pada penderita diabetes melitus dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor salah satunya adalah self efficacy. Self efficacy menjadi salah satu faktor yang dapat berdampak pada penderita diabetes melitus sehingga perlu diberikan edukasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh whatsapp based education melalui aplikasi sosial media whatsapp terhadap self efficacy pada pasien diabetes melitus. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan design Quasy Eksperimen yang digunakan pada peneletian ini yaitu pretest postest Nonequivalent control group design dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 70 responden dengan metode purposive sampling. Instrumen menggunakan kuesioner Diabetes Melitus Self Efficacy Scale (DMSES). Hasil uji statistik Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test dimana menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai pretest posttest sebelum dan setelah diberikan whatsapp based education pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen dengan nilai p value pada kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen yaitu 0.000. Sedangkan uji statistik Mann Whitney antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen dengan nilai p value 0.009 (<0.05). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut pengaruh Whatsapp Based Education Melalui Aplikasi Sosial Media Whatsapp Terhadap Self Efficacy Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Abiansemal III.
