Abstract
Kadar kolesterol total yang tinggi (hiperkolesterolemia) dapat memicu terjadinya hipertensi karena elastisitas pebuluh darah berkurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana korelasi kolesterol total dalam darah terhadap hipertensi. Metode kuantitatif observasional dengan desain cross-sectional, jumlah sampel 66 orang dipilih untuk mengetahui korelasi di maksud. Semua data didapatkan secara sekunder dari rekam medis (data sekunder). Analisis data mengunakan kolerasiproduct moment. Rata-rata kolesterol total 200,42mg/dl, rata-rata tekanan darah sisitolik 156,33mmHg, rata-rata tekanan darah diastolik 93,53mmHg, koefisien korelasi (r) 0,563. Padaα0,05 ada korelasi yang bermakna antara kolesterol total (hiperkolesterolemia) dengan hipertensi pada pasien di Poliklinik penyakit dalam RS X Denpasar (p-value 0,000 < α0,05).
