Abstract

Waria dengan HIV/AIDS sangat rentan mengalami stress karena mendapat stigma ganda dari masyarakat. Stres yang dialami akan semakin memperburuk kondisi, bahkan menyebabkan gangguan kecemasan dan depresi. Disinilah letak peran penting dukungan sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan sosial terhadap tingkat stress yang dialami waria dengan HIV/AIDS di Yayasan Gaya Dewata. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu cross sectional dengan pendekatan retrospektif. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling sebanyak 52 responden. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner the social provision scale (SPS) dan the perceived stress scale (PSS-10). Analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji spearman rank. Hasil uji statistik spearman rank menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan tingkat stress dengan nilai p 0,001 (<0,05). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan pentingnya dukungan sosial yang diberikan kepada waria dengan HIV/AIDS agar dapat terhindar dari stress.
