Abstract

Faringitis adalah salah satu penyakit infeksi saluran pernafasan atas yang terjadi di seluruh dunia. Puskesmas abang II menunjukan kasus faringitis dengan jumlah kasus 1.503 dan memasuki urutan penyakit 10 besar terbanyak yang menduduki urutan pertama pasien rawat jalan di puskesmas abanag II periode Januari – Desember 2018. Kebiasaan merokok adalah salah satu faktor yang berasal dari lingkungan luar pasien yang dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit faringitis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan merokok dengan kejadian faringitis pada remaja di puskesmas abang II. Desain Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode cross sectional, rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner kebiasaan merokok berupa ceklist, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenis nonprobability sampling yaitu Sampling purposive dengan jumlah 35 sampel. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan salah satu uji statistik dengan Chi Square diperoleh nilai p value 0,004 lebih kecil dari taraf signifikan 0,05 yang artinya ada hubungan antara kebiasaan merokok dengan kejadian faringitis pada remaja di Puskesmas Abang II. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan edukasi untuk pasien, keluarga dan masyarakat sebagai sumber informasi terutama para remaja perokok untuk menyadari bahwa merokok dapat mengakibatkan faringitis.
