Abstract

Bermain game online melalui handphone yang berlebihan dapat memengaruhi perkembangan emosional anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan bermain game online handphone terhadap kecerdasan emosional pada anak di SD Negeri 3 Peninjoan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain korelasional dengan pendekatan crosssectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 46 siswa kelas IV yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa memiliki intensitas bermain game online kategori sedang (45,7%) dan kecerdasan emosional kategori buruk (60,9%). Uji Spearman Rank menunjukkan nilai p = 0,011 dengan r = -0,370, yang berarti terdapat hubungan signifikan dengan arah negatif antara bermain game online dan kecerdasan emosional anak. Semakin tinggi intensitas bermain game online, semakin rendah kecerdasan emosional anak.
