Abstract
ABSTRACT IUDs have gained popularity as a form of birth control due to their long-term effectiveness and user-friendliness. A heavier and longer menstrual cycle following IUD implantation is one of the negative effects, despite its great effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the use of intrauterine device (IUD) and menstrual duration in women of childbearing age at Marvella Denpasar Pharmacy. This research method used a cross-sectional approach with a sample size of 44 respondents, with a non-probability sampling technique, namely total sampling. The Chi-Square test was used in the analytical test. The findings revealed a p-value of 0.001, indicating a correlation between menstrual duration in women of childbearing age at Marvella Denpasar Pharmacy and the use of an intrauterine device (IUD). The advice given to the public is that this study can improve understanding and the effects of intrauterine contraceptives on menstrual patterns and the public can make more informed decisions regarding contraceptive choices so that it can help reduce stigma or concerns that may arise due to changes in the menstrual cycle after using intrauterine contraceptives.
