Abstract

Hypertension that does not get good treatment will cause complications and death. The high incidence of hypertension is influenced by a low level of awareness. So that efforts are needed in handling hypertension, one of which is by improving self-management. The success of self-management is influenced by several factors, namely, self-acceptance and family support. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self-acceptance with self-management in hypertensive patients in the UPTD work area. Mengwi I Health Center. This research method is quantitative research using cross-sectional correlative research design with purposive sampling, the sample in this study were hypertensive patients in the UPTD work area. Mengwi I Health Center which amounted to 96 people. The research instruments used in this study were family support questionnaire, Self Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS) and Hypertension Self Management Behavior Questionnaire / HSMBQ. The results of the analysis with the Spearman rank test show that the p-value is 0.004 which means <0.05 so that between self-acceptance and self-management of hypertensive patients has a significant relationship. The results of the analysis of the relationship between family support and self management show that the p-value is 0.001 which means <0.05 so that between the two variables have a significant relationship.
