Abstract

Hiperglikemia yang berkepanjangan mengakibatkan gangguan aktivitas jalur metabolisme yang berdampak pada aliran darah ke saraf gerak menjadi tidak lancar akan mengakibatkan kelemahan otot di kaki. Tingginya angka kejadian diabetes dan kelemaha otot yang ditimbulkan perlu dilakuakan penanganan. Senam kaki diabetik dengan bola plastik akan melatih otot untuk berkontraksi sehingga aliran darah ke saraf menjadi lancar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh senam kaki diabetik dengan bola plastik terhadap kekuatan otot kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II di Rumah Sakit BaliMed Denpasar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pre- test and post- test design, jumlah sampel yang diambil adalah 21 responden dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata – rata nilai kekuatan otot kaki pre test adalah 91,6667. Setelah diberikan senam kaki diabetik dengan bola plastik diperoleh rata – rata nilai kekuatan otot kaki post test adalah 94,3095. Hasil analisis data dengan Wilcoxon Signed Rank test didapatkan nilai p = 0,001 < α (α = 0,05) yang berarti ada pengaruh senam kaki diabetik dengan bola plastik terhadap kekuatan otot kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II di Rumah Sakit BaliMed Denpasar.
