Abstract
Myalgia is one of the complaints that is quite often suffered by the elderly. Minimizing myalgia requires non-pharmacological therapy management, one of which is progressive muscle relaxation. This therapy is a method that focuses on muscle relaxation. This study aims to determine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation on Myalgia in the Elderly at UPTD Puskesmas Mengwi I. The research was conducted with a pre-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test one group design. The research was conducted from April to May 2024 with a total sample of 18 respondents selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a numerical rating scale. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed myalgia in the elderly before being given progressive muscle relaxation with an average of 4.55 and decreased after being given progressive muscle relaxation with an average of 2.55. Analysis of the Effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation on Myalgia in the Elderly obtained a p value <0.001, so it can be explained that there is an Effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation on Myalgia in the Elderly at UPTD Mengwi I Health Center. The recommendations of this study are expected to be input for further researchers to conduct research on Progressive Muscle Relaxation Against Myalgia using a design with a comparison group.
