Abstract
Patients with stage five chronic kidney failure experience irreversible kidney damage, resulting in a progressive decline in kidney tissue function. Anxiety of patients who suffered from chronic kidney failure has an impact on the sleeping quality and quantity. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between anxiety levels and sleeping quality of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at X Denpasar Hospital. This research method was a quantitative cross sectional design . The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, which involved 52 respondents. Anxiety levels were measured by the HRS-A questionnaire and the PSQI sleeping quality. The results of the analysis were tested by spearman rank. Univariate analysis of the anxiety level description in hemodialysis patients showed that 30 respondents (37.7%) experienced mild anxiety and the description of sleeping quality experienced by hemodialysis patients showed that 27 respondents (51.9%) had poor sleeping quality. The results of bivariate analysis showed that p value of 0.0001 <0.05 means that there was a significant correlation between anxiety levels and sleeping quality of hemodialysis patients at X Denpasar Hospital. This research is expected as input for hospitals and the nursing profession to provide more patient focused nursing care undergoing hemodialysis to reduce patient anxiety and improve sleep quality.
