Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi yang mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat menyebabkan remaja mengalami kecanduan smartphone. Penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan gangguankesehatan mental pada remaja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kecanduan smartphone dengan kesehatan mental pada remaja di Posyandu Remaja Desa Kekeran. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional dengan jenis penelitian cross senectional dengan purposive sampling, yang melibatkan 53 remaja yang berumur 15-17 tahun. Kecanduan smartphone diukur dengan Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) dan kesehatan mental diukur dengan The Mental Health Inventory (MHI-38) yang dimodifikasi. Hasil analisis dengan kendall’s tau mendapatkan didapatkan nilai hubungannya 0,001 yang berarti nilai tersebut lebih kecil dari nilai signifikan yaitu 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima. Nilai korelasi 0,472, ini menunjukkan bahwa nilainya cukup dengan arah positif yang berarti semakin tinggi tingkat Kecanduan Smartphone maka semakin tinggi pula psychological distress pada responden dan juga sebaliknya.
