Abstract
Hypertension is one of the important factors as a trigger for non-communicable diseases (Non Communicable Diseases) such as heart disease, stroke, and of which two-thirds are found in developing countries, the cause of death throughout the world dies every year and it is estimated that around one billion people in the world who suffer from hypertension. The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of audio-visual educational media on public knowledge about preventing hypertension in Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency. This research is a type of quantitative research that uses a Pre-Experimental design with a One-Group Pre-Post Test Design type. The sample in this study was taken using a non-probability sampling technique, purposive sampling type, with a sample size of 60 respondents. This research instrument uses a video about hypertension and a hypertension knowledge questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test to compare the pretest and posttest results. Pre-test results with audio-visual media for 13 people had sufficient knowledge of 21.7%, and 47 people had insufficient knowledge of 78.3%. The research results were tested using the Wilcoxon statistical test, obtaining a p value = 0.000. Because the p value < α 0.05, H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is an influence of providing educational media via audiovisual on public knowledge about preventing hypertension in Sibang Gede Village.
