Abstract

Penyakit diabetes melitus membutuhkan manajemen diri yang baik. Motivasi merupakan faktor yang pendukung penderita DM menjalani terapi diet. Selain faktor motivasi, health locus of control juga mempengaruhi kepatuhan diet DM supaya kadar gula dalam darah tetap normal. Tujuan penelitian hubungan motivasi dan health locus of control dengan kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes mellitus. Desain penelitian analisis korelasi dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian pasien DM sebanyak 67 orang dengan teknik sampel purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data motivasi menggunakan kuesioner Treatment Self- Regulation Questionnaire, health locus of control menggunakan kuesioner The Multi Dimensional Health locus of control form C dan kepatuhan diet diabetes melitus menggunakan kuesioner kepatuhan, analisis data terdiri dari analisis univariat dan bivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan motivasi sebagian besar tinggi sebanyak 29 responden (43,3%), health locus of control sebagian besar tinggi sebanyak 30 responden (44,8%). Kepatuhan diet sebanyak 29 responden (43,3%) kategori patuh. Hasil uji Rank Spearman didapatkan p value = 0,000(<0,05) menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara hubungan motivasi dan health locus of control dengan kepatuhan diet, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi dan health locus of control berhubungan signifikan dengan kepatuhan diet. Disarankan kepada responden agar bertanggungjawab dan aktif melakukan upaya untuk mematuhi diet.
