Abstract

Nyeri pada neonatus jika tidak ditangani dengan baik akan berefek jangka panjang, yaitu dapat berupa gangguan neurobehavioral, gangguan belajar, keterlambatan perkembangan, gangguan motorik, ketidakmampuan menghadapi situasi baru dan peningkatan respon stres hormonal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan non-nutritive sucking terhadap respon nyeri bayi prematur saat prosedur heel-stick test di Ruang NICU RSUD Bali Mandara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy experimental design. Adapun rancangan yang digunakan adalah post-test only with non-equivalent groups. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 40 orang yang dibagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik non probability sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan alat ukur NIPS dan dicatat pada lembar observasi. Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney menunjukkan bahwa non nutritive sucking berpengaruh terhadap respon nyeri bayi prematur saat prosedur heel-stick test dengan p value 0,001. Penerapan non nutritive sucking dapat dijadikan intervensi mandiri perawat dalam mencegah dampak jangka panjang akibat nyeri yang tidak terkontrol pada bayi prematur.
