Abstract

Pada lanjut usia akan mengalami penurunan fungsi musculoskeletal sehingga terjadi penyakit sendi, seperti rheumatoid arthritis yang ditandai dengan peradangan kronis pada sendi tangan dan kaki. Masih tingginya kasus rheumatoid arthritis pada lansia, dapat menyebabkan keterbatasan mobilitas dan aktivitas kehidupan sehari-hari. Terapi kompres cengkeh merupakan salah satu tindakan non farmakologi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan rasa nyaman, memberikan rasa hangat, dan mengurangi nyeri rheumatoid arthritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompres cengkeh (syzgium aromaticum) terhadap nyeri rheumatoid arthritis pada lansia di Banjar Ponggang, Desa Puhu, Payangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-Eksperimental dengan jenis One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Purposive sampling dengan 28 responden. Data dianalisis dengan uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil uji statistik yang menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, diperoleh bahwa p-value = 0,001 (p<0,05). Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh kompres cengkeh (syzygium aromaticum) terhadap nyeri rheumatoid arthritis pada lansia di Banjar Ponggang, Desa Puhu, Payangan. Penelitian ini diharapakan dapat menjadi pedoman untuk menurunkan tingkat nyeri pada pasien dengan rheumatoid arthritis.
