Abstract
Backround: Menstruation can cause significant disturbances for women. Menstrual disorders that often occur in most women are menstrual pain. The nature and level of pain, ranged from mild to severe. This condition is called dysmenorhea, which is a state of severe pain dan interefe with daily activities. Acupressure therapy and warm compresses are two of the safest therapies. Acupressure therapy combined with warm compresses can increase muscle relaxation, reduce pain, and provide a warm sensation. Research Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hegu point acupressure therapy (LI4) and warm compresses on dysmenhorea of junior high school students at SMP Wisata Denpasar. Methodology: This study was a quantitative research which employed a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest - posttest design with 52 respondents. The Wilcoxon rank test was used as a statistical test. Instruments used were acupressure and warm compresses standard operating procedures, and also observation sheets with pain rating scales. Results: The results showed that the p-value was 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: Indicating that there was an effect of hegu point acupressure therapy (LI4) and warm compresses on dysmenhorea. Based on the findings of these studies, it is proposed that in the future, the parties' health services can provide information to students experiencing dysmenorhea by administering acupressure therapy and warm compresses.
