Abstract

ABSTRAK Kesehatan mata adalah bagian terpenting yang harus selalu dijaga oleh setiap individu, keluarga, dan masyarakat, karena mata merupakan bagian yang terpenting pada manusia. Katarak menjadi penyebab kebutaan tertinggi di Indonesia. Pengobatan untuk katarak sampai saat ini yang efektif adalah dengan pembedahan. Faktanya banyak penderita katarak belum dioperasi karena berbagai masalah yang dihadapi sehingga dapat mengakibatkan kurangnya niat atau intensi pada penderita katarak untuk menjalani operasi katarak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh terapi suportif terhadap intensi melakukan operasi katarak pada pasien katarak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain penelitian pre eksperiment dengan rancangan one group pre-post test design tanpa group kontrol yaitu eksperimen yang dilakukan dengan pre-test sebelum dilakukan perlakuan dan post-test setelah diberikan perlakuan. Sampel sebanyak 29 orang didapatkan dengan purposive sampling sesuai kriteria inklusi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebagian besar berusia rata-rata 58,66 tahun dengan usia terendah 45 tahun dan usia tertua 72 tahun. Intensi untuk melakukan operasi katarak sebelum diberikan terapi suportif (pretest) sebagian besar dalam kategori cukup yaitu sebanyak 27 responden (58,6%) dan setelah diberikan terapi suportif (postest) sebagian besar dalam kategori baik yaitu sebanyak 14 responden (48,3%) dengan dengan p-value = 0,018 (p< α; α=0,05). Kesimpulannya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian terapi suportif terhadap intensi untuk melakukan operasi katarak pada pasien katarak di RS Ramata. ABSTRACT Eye health is the most important part that must be maintained by every individual, family, and society, because the eyes are the most important part in humans. Cataract is the leading cause of blindness in Indonesia. The most effective treatment for cataracts is surgery. The fact is that many cataract sufferers have not been operated on because of various problems faced which can lead to a lack of intention or intention in cataract patients to undergo cataract surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supportive therapy on the intention to perform cataract surgery in cataract patients. This study was a quantitative study using a pre-experimental research design with a one-group pre-post-test design without a control group, namely an experiment conducted with a pre-test before treatment and post-test after being given treatment. A sample of 29 people was obtained by purposive sampling according to the inclusion criteria. The results showed that most of the patients’ was 58.66 years old with the lowest age was 45 years and the oldest age was 72 years. The intention to perform cataract surgery before being given supportive therapy (pretest) was mostly in the sufficient category, namely as many as 27 respondents (58.6%) and after being given supportive therapy (posttest) most of them were in the good category, namely as many as 14 respondents (48.3%). with p-value = 0.018 (p< ; =0.05). In conclusion, there was a significant effect of providing supportive therapy on the intention to perform cataract surgery in cataract patients at Ramata Hospital
