Abstract

SEKOLAH TINGGI ILMU KEPERAWATAN BINA USADA BALI PROGRAM STUDI SARJANA ILMU KEPERAWATAN Skripsi, 10 Januari 2024 I Gusti Ayu Sucitawati Hubungan Lama Menderita Diabetes Mellitus Dengan Tingkat Pengetahuan Tentang Ulkus Diabetikum Pada Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Selat Karangasem xvii + 73 + 10 tabel + 2 skema + 15 lampiran ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus adalah gangguan metabolisme yang terjadi ketika pankreas tidak menghasilkan cukup insulin atau ketika tubuh tidak dapat secara efektif menggunakan insulin yang dihasilkan. Ulkus diabetikum adalah kerusakan atau kematian kulit sampai jaringan dari bawah kulit bahkan menembus otot sampai mengenai tulang, akibat adanya penekanan pada suatu area secara terus menerus sehingga mengakibatkan gangguan sirkulasi darah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan lama menderita diabetes mellitus dengan tingkat pengetahuan tentang ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes mellitus di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Selat Karangasem. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian non eksperimental yang bersifat kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah sebanyak 66 responden yang ditentukan dengan teknik sampling yaitu teknik non probabiliy sampling dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling atau accidental sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuisioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Rho. Penelitian ini didapatkan hasil nilai p-value sebesar 0,089 (α = 0,05) dan nilai koefisien korelasi yaitu sebesar 0,211 sehingga dapat disimpulkan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara lama menderita diabetes mellitus dengan tingkat pengetahuan tentang ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes mellitus di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Selat Karangasem dengan kekuatan hubungan lemah dan searah mengenai lama menderita diabetes mellitus dengan tingkat pengetahuan tentang ulkus diabetikum. Saran dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh tenaga kesehatan khususnya bidang keperawatan dalam memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai pengetahuan tentang ulkus diabetikum dan perilaku pencegahan komplikasi ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes mellitus. Diabetic ulcers are damage or death of the skin to the tissue from under the skin and even penetrate the muscles to the bones, due to continuous pressure on an area, resulting in impaired blood circulation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between the long period of diabetes mellitus suffering and the level of knowledge about diabetic ulcers of diabetes mellitus patients in Selat, Karangasem health center area. This study was a non-experimental, quantitative study that employed a correlational method and a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 66 respondents who were chosen using a non-probabilistic sampling technique using convenience sampling or accidental sampling techniques. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The Spearman Rho correlation test was used to analyze the data. This study obtained the results of a p-value of 0.089 (α = 0.05) and a correlation coefficient value of 0.211, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relation between the long period of diabetes mellitus suffering and the level of knowledge about diabetic ulcers of diabetes mellitus patients in Selat, Karangasem health center area, has a weak and unidirectional relationship regarding the duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus and the level of knowledge about diabetic ulcers. Suggestions from this study are expected to be used by health workers, especially the nursing field, in providing education to the public regarding knowledge about diabetic ulcers and behavior to prevent diabetic ulcer complications in patients with diabetes mellitus.
